Many newer boards have built-in monitor chips that can read temperature, voltage, and fan speeds.
Those that do often include a screen in the BIOS Setup that allows you to view the readings from the
monitor chip (see Table 5.19 ) . Usually such boards also include a hardware monitor program that
runs under Windows for more convenient monitoring while the system is in use. For example, MSI
includes a program called the MSI Control Center for monitoring and controlling its motherboards
(see Figure 5.9 ).
