Third-Party Chipsets for AMD Processors
Thanks to AMD's encouragement of third-party chipset development for its Athlon and later
processor series, a number of chipset vendors developed chipsets for AMD processors, most notably
VIA, SiS, and NVIDIA.
VIA Chipsets
Until recently, VIA Technologies, Inc., was the largest chipset and processor supplier outside of Intel
