AMD A-Series Chipsets
AMD's A series chipsets are designed to support AMD desktop APUs (CPUs with integrated
graphics) that use the FM1 or FM2 processor sockets. These chipsets are also referred to as Fusion
Controller Hubs (FCH) and are single-chip chipsets.
All A-series chipsets use the Unified Media Interface (UMI) interconnect between the APU and the
FCH. UMI uses four PCIe 2.0 lanes for a bandwidth of 2GBps, and all include four-channel HD
audio and SATA 3Gbps support See Table 4.36 for specific features of each chipset.
