ABOVE: Develop four primary scaffold branches. Head these to produce
two secondary laterals each. Head each secondary lateral to produce two
tertiary laterals each. Use weights, ties, or spreader bars to train the
scaffolds to a wide, uniform bowl shape. Use thinning and stub cuts to
keep the canopy open and develop new fruiting wood.
While this particular design was developed in Spain, other variations exist.
