needed amount of copper sulfate by washing it through a screen into the
tank with more water. Allow time for the copper sulfate to dissolve. If pos-
sible, constantly agitate the solution in the spray tank. Mix the required
amount of lime in a plastic or stainless steel bucket and allow it to set for 2
hours with frequent stirring. Slowly pour the lime suspension into the spray
tank while constantly agitating the mix. Fill the spray tank to the desired
level with water. After spraying, thoroughly wash your spray equipment in-
side and out at least three times to remove the corrosive mixture. Add a
small amount of vinegar to the rinse water to neutralize the lime.
HOW TO PREPARE BORDEAUX MIX USING
STOCK SOLUTIONS
1. Add 2 gallons of room temperature water to a 3-gallon or larger
container.
2. Shake the copper sulfate solution and hydrated lime stock sus-
pension vigorously.
3. Add 1 quart of copper sulfate stock solution to the 2 gallons of
water and mix thoroughly.
4. After the copper solution has been added and mixed with the wa-
ter, add 1 quart of lime suspension to the container (total 2.5 gal-
lons of spray mix) while constantly stirring the mix.

STOCK SOLUTIONS
If you do not wish to store stock solutions and need only 1 gallon or so
of Bordeaux mix at one time, follow these directions.
