Notes: The small, black fruits are soft and suitable for processing.
Resists cracking. An old variety that produces reliable crops. The trees
are easy to train. Widely adaptable and popular from the Mid-Atlantic
states to New Hampshire and westward to Indiana and New Mexico.
Hudson
Climate Zones: Zones 5-7
Notes: The black fruits are sweet and more resistant to cracking than
many other sweet cherries. Moderately heavy crops ripen late in the
season. Popular in the Mid-Atlantic states, the northeastern United
States, and the Upper Midwest.
Kristin
Climate Zones: Zones 4-8
Notes: The large, purplish-black to black fruits are sweet. Particularly
suitable for roadside stands and U-pick farms. Among the most cold-
hardy sweet cherries.
