Big V
Notes: The light red fruits average about 0.7 inch in diameter and have
soft, pinkish-yellow flesh. Blooms in late February and early March and
ripens in late April through early May. The fruits are susceptible to
shattering when ripe.
Betsy
Notes: The large, red fruits have red flesh. Blooms in late February
and early March and ripens in late April through early May. Reported
to be a heavy bearer. Needs a pollinizer.
Turnage 57
Notes: The red fruits average about 0.5 inch in diameter and have soft,
yellow flesh. Blooms in early to mid-March and ripens in early to mid-
May. Susceptible to shattering when ripe.
Texas Star
Notes: The red fruits average 0.75-0.9 inch in diameter and have yel-
low flesh. Blooms in early to mid-March and ripens in early to mid-
May. A promising new variety but not yet extensively tested.
Turnage 88
Notes: The red fruits average 0.65 inch in diameter and have rather
soft, yellow flesh. Blooms in early to mid-March and ripens in mid-May.
