Atago
Climate Zones: Zones 5-8
Notes: The brownish, oblong fruits are sweet and juicy. Better adapted
to cool climates than most Asian pears. Requires cross-pollination.
Chojuro
Climate Zones: Zones 5-8
Notes: The round, yellowish-orange, somewhat russetted fruits have
crisp, rather coarse flesh with a sweet, mild flavor. For fresh use.
Ripens in late mid-season. Pollinate with 'Bartlett' or another Asian
pear.
Hamese
Climate Zones: Zones 5-8
Notes: The medium-sized, yellow fruits have good flavor and ripen
early to mid-season. Requires cross-pollination.
Hosui
Climate Zones: Zones 5-9
Notes: The round, greenish-yellow fruits are tangy-sweet and juicy.
Best for fresh use. Ripens mid-season to late season. Resistant to fire
