Unless you want to camp, or stay at the one guesthouse on the islands, the closest
base is the small town of
Lucap
, accessible from Alaminos, where day-trips set off; the
town, however, is pretty dull and not recommended as a place to stay. It's far nicer to
base yourself at one of the resorts near Bolinao (see p.139).

By bus
The closest bus station to the Hundred Islands
National Park is at Alaminos, 4km south of Lucap, accessible
from Lucap by tricycle (see p.138). Victory Liner, Five Star
and Dagupan serve Manila (every 40min-1hr; 4-8hr),
with Victory Liner and Five Star also serving Santa Cruz
(every 30min; 2hr). Victory Liner has connections to
Bolinao (afternoon services only, leaving when full;
45min), Lingayen (hourly; 45min) and Dagupan (every
