WAILEA
Over $150
Wailea hotels are expensive, fancy, and meant to provide indulgence. The northernmost of
the Wailea resorts is The Wailea Beach Marriott (3700 Wailea Alanui Dr., 808/879-1922,
www.marriott.com , $340), a 497-room oceanfront resort that is the oldest in Wailea (al-
though it's been extensively restored). Families will enjoy the large system of pools, and
the snorkeling and sand of Ulua Beach is only a few steps away. Parking is $25/day, Inter-
net is $15/day, and rates begin around $340 during the slower seasons of the year.
Not far from the Marriott are the ultra-luxurious Wailea Beach Villas (3800 Wailea
Alanui Dr., 808/891-4500, www.drhmaui.com , $850), directly fronting the beach and steps
from the Shops at Wailea. Grab a private cabana overlooking the shoreline, relax in the
oceanfront infinity pool, and bask in the aura of extravagant luxury at Wailea's nicest ac-
commodations. Parking is free of charge, although as you can imagine, these rooms don't
come cheap.
