As the name implies, Imports Gift Shop (82 Ala Malama Ave., 808/553-5734,
8am-6pm Mon.-Sat., 8am-1pm Sun.) offers a small selection of imported gifts and locally
made items in addition to clothing, souvenirs, and snacks.
Kalele Bookstore and Divine Expressions (64 Ala Malama Ave., 808/553-5112,
www.molokaispirit.com , 10am-5pm Mon.-Fri., 9am-2pm Sat.) offers not only books, but
also locally crafted artwork, jewelry, wooden bowls, and even just advice on touring Mo-
loka'i. It's an eclectic and worthwhile stop if you are killing time while in town.
Moloka'i Art from the Heart (64 Ala Malama Ave., 808/553-8018,
www.molokaigallery.com , 10am-5pm Mon.-Fri., 9am-2:30pm Sat.) is a consignment
boutique where over 136 local artists are able to showcase and sell their products. You can
find anything in here from sarongs to CDs to original paintings. It's a great stop for sup-
porting the local community.
Across the street, Moloka'i Fish and Dive (61 Ala Malama Ave., 808/553-5926,
www.molokaifishanddive.com , 7:30am-6pm Mon.-Sat., 8am-2pm Sun.) provides any ba-
sic gear you might need for the beach, as well as clothing, gear rentals, maps, or anything
that has to do with a day in the sun.
Toward the wharf, upstairs from the American Savings Bank is A Light from Heaven
(40 Ala Malama Ave., 808/553-3332, 9am-2pm Mon.-Sat.), a store specializing in any gear
related to camping, hunting, fishing, or the outdoors.
On the more practical side, Moloka'i Drugs (28 Kamoi St., 808/553-5790,
8:45am-5:45pm Mon.-Fri., 8:45am-2pm Sat.) in the Kamoi Professional Center has you
covered for any medicinal or prescription needs while on the island.
TOPSIDE
When it comes to shopping up on the topside of the island, there are only two options.
Across the street from the Kualapu'u Cookhouse in the Kualapu'u Business Center is Mo-
loka'i Furniture and Denise's Gifts (100 Kalae Hwy., 808/567-6083, 10am-4pm Mon.-
Fri., 9am-2pm Sat.) which sells, as you might expect, fine wooden furniture as well as
jewelry, women's clothing, and locally made crafts.
Adjoining the Coffees of Hawaii Espresso Bar across the street, the Blue Monkey
(1630 Farrington Ave., 808/567-6776, 10am-4pm Mon.-Sat., 1pm-5pm Sun.) gift shop
sells a fun-loving mix of everything from ukuleles to photography to handmade jewelry or
hats.
