In-Depth Information
Operating the 40-foot catamaran Manu Ele'ele, Moloka'i Ocean Tours (808/
553-3290, www.molokaioceantours.com ) can accommodate up to six passengers and of-
fers snorkeling excursions out of Kaunakakai. Like other operators, this boat mostly
travels the 30 miles of fringing reef along the south shore in front of Kaunakakai. Prices
vary depending on the number of people on the boat, from $240/person for two people to
$90/person for six people.
The island's most extreme scuba diving is at Moku Ho'oniki.
For a private sea tour of the northern sea cliffs—something which is only possible when
the conditions allow—local adventure guide Walter Naki runs Moloka'i Action Adven-
tures (808/558-8184) and is one of the few people you will find who can take you to re-
mote valleys and the dramatic coastline of the world's tallest sea cliffs. Because conditions
are variable, inquire directly about rates and availability, although if all aligns correctly,
it's guaranteed to be the most memorable day of your vacation.
