EAST MOLOKA'I
The eastern beaches are the most popular among locals despite being heavily exposed to
the northeasterly winds. Morning hours are best. Like scenes out of a South Pacific post-
card, white sand coves ringed by lazy palms are dotted by fishing boats of varying colors
and styles. More than anywhere else on the island, a sense of calm envelops this shore. The
swimming and snorkeling are best at high tide, the beachcombing and sunbathing better at
low tide, and everything is better before the afternoon wind.

Just east of the Mana'e Goods & Grindz a small beach access sign points down a dirt drive-
way to the tucked away Puko'o Beach. Despite being only 50 yards long, this sliver of a
