Ho'okipa and is the best spot on the North Shore for windsurfing rentals and supplies.
Since kitesurfing isn't allowed along the length of Sprecklesville, and since Ho'okipa is
dominated by windsurfers and surfers, there are only a handful of places along the island's
North Shore amenable for the sport. What few spots are available, however, are only ac-
cessible to advanced riders. If you're still relatively new to kitesurfing, it's best to stick to
Kite Beach and Kanaha Beach Park in Central Maui. If you're determined to kite along
this stretch of coastline, however, most kiters will launch out of the
Kuau Cove
section of
shoreline between Mama's Fish House and The Point at Ho'okipa. Parking can be found
either in the beach access stalls within the Mama's Fish House parking lot or at pullouts
