where in addition to draft and bottled beers there are 20 wines which are either organic or
grown in sustainable vineyards. Late-night happy hour is 9pm-midnight. It's within walk-
ing distance of many of the resorts.
Inside the Shops at Wailea the best bar scene is at Longhi's (3750 Wailea Alanui, 808/
891-8883, www.longhis.com , open until 10pm), and you can also find cold beers and trop-
ical drinks inside Tommy Bahama's (808/875-9983, open until 10pm) and Cheeseburger
Island Style (808/874-8990, open until 10pm).
The Red Bar at Gannon's (100 Wailea Golf Club Dr., 808/875-8080,
www.gannonsrestaurant.com , open until 9:30pm) pairs the sexiest and sleekest drinks in
Wailea along with a stunning ocean view. Choose from affordable draft beers, an extensive
list of over 100 wines, and enticing cocktails made with everything from sweet tea vodka
to acai liqueur. There's also occasional live entertainment, usually paired with happy hour.

Looking for a cheap meal on the go? You can't go wrong at the takeout counter at
Tradewinds Deli (20 Hauoli St., 808/242-9161, 9am-6pm Mon.-Sat., 9am-4pm Sun.,
$6-7), inside the Ma'alaea Mermaid condominium next to Ma'alaea Harbor. Try a bowl
of chili and rice, a turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich, or daily lunch specials like beef
stew or red chicken curry.

If your idea of the perfect lunch is clutching a pint of PBR with barbecue-covered fingers,
Beach Bums Bar and Grill (300 Ma'alaea Boat Harbor Rd., 808/243-2286,8am-9pm
daily, $8-25), downstairs in the Harbor Shops, is the perfect spot. It's a festive open-air
sports den of pulled pork sandwiches, barbecue ribs, and sweet potato fries.
