Kahului
The best yoga studio in Kahului is Kahului Yoga (283 Lalo St., 808/874-5270,
www.kahuluiyoga.com ), a small studio in the industrial section of town. There's a full
range of classes taught by experienced instructors, and a schedule of classes can be found
on the website. Single session rates are $16, and a package of five classes is $75.
Wailuku
The largest yoga studio in Wailuku is Body Alive (1995 W. Main St., 808/359-1060,
www.bodyaliveyoga.com ) in historic downtown close to many shops and restaurants.
Single sessions are $15, or a package of five classes can be purchased for $65. A wide
range of classes are offered from Flow and Chill yoga to Combat yoga to the cross-fit-
ness fusion of Yogalates (yoga and Pilates). Thai and zen shiatsu massage sessions are also
available.
FITNESS
Kahului
The largest fitness center in Kahului is 24 Hour Fitness (150 Hana Hwy., 808/877-7474,
5am-midnight Mon., 24 hours Tues.-Fri., 6am-10pm weekends), which offers a free three-
day pass. It's open longer than anywhere else. Plus it's only five minutes from the airport
if you need to squeeze in a workout before a red eye flight.
Anyone with a YMCA membership can head into the Maui YMCA (250 Kanaloa
Ave., 808/242-9007, www.mauiymca.org . 5:30am-9pm Mon.-Fri., 7am-7pm Sat.,
10am-6pm Sun.), which offers a large range of fitness equipment, free weights, a swim-
ming pool, and a locker room.
Wailuku
For those who are addicted to CrossFit, Maui CrossFit Extreme (1495 Lower Main St.,
808/205-1802, www.mauicrossfitextreme.com ) offers five daily classes that mimic the
CrossFit philosophy to offer intense workouts in a short period of time.
