There's always the free connection at the various
Starbucks
across town. The Lahaina
Cannery Mall location is much larger than the one next to Foodland. There are comfortable
outdoor chairs and outlets for you to charge your machine.
Above Kahana is the small
Kapalua-West Maui Airport,
which is a convenient option
for those commuting to Honolulu. The interisland fares are often a little higher than at the
larger Kahului Airport ($70-80 one way), but when you factor in the hour of driving you
save, it's worth the few extra dollars. This small airport is used principally by Island Air
and Mokulele Airlines, but it's also used by small commercial tour companies such as Vol-
cano Air Tours. Surrounded by former pineapple fields, the single airstrip is short and used
by small propeller aircraft only. The check-in counters, inspection station, boarding gate,
and baggage claim are only a few steps from each other.
Island Air operates two flights daily between Kapalua Airport and Honolulu, and Mok-
ulele Airlines has either five or seven flights a day depending on the date. The earliest
flight departs for Honolulu at 8:27am, and the last flight of the day is at 6:12pm. It's also
possible to connect from here with airports on Moloka'i and Lana'i, although you will
need to stop in Honolulu first, so it's easier to take the ferry or a direct flight out of Kahului
Airport.
Rental Car
The largest car rental providers on the West Side are in Honokowai, equidistant between
Lahaina Harbor and Kapalua Airport. Here you'll find both

Provided you arrive to the harbor or Kapalua Airport during business hours, they have a
shuttle that will pick you up.
In the Sheraton resort in Ka'anapali,

haina Harbor to Kapalua.
