Epilepsy: Disruption of the normal elec-
trochemical activity of the brain that results in
seizures. Under certain circumstances anyone can
have a seizure. It is only when there is a tendency
to have recurrent seizures (more than one) that
Epilepsy is diagnosed.
Information Processing: Process of obtain-
ing, holding, and using data or information as an
activity to receive a meaningful message.
Remote Detection (RMON): A network
management protocol that permits to exchange
network-monitoring data (network information)
to gather at a single computer. A RMON applica-
tion collects information and analyzes packets and
this implementation usually operates in a client/
server model.
Seizures: A disruption in the normal pattern
of these electrical impulses in the brain, caused
by the brain cells firing simultaneously at a much
faster rate.
Video-EEG: A technique for assessing seizure
disorders, in which the EEG signal is amplified,
encoded by an analog system, and transmitted to a
central station, as an analog or digital video image.
Virtual Private Network (VPN): Computer
network that uses a public telecommunication
infrastructure, for a example, Internet to deliver
remote offices (ex: hospitals) or individual users
with secure access to their main network.
