In-Depth Information
retrieved from the underlying repository to the
capabilities of the requesting client device. Data
and records to/from the repository are encoded
in XML for interoperability issues. Furthermore,
the appropriate XSLT templates (one for each
device capabilities class) have been created for
adapting and transforming the patients' XML
records from the repository into web pages (e.g.
in HTML, xHTML) presentable to the execution
context of the requesting device. The adaptation
framework presented here is easily extendable and
interoperable (due to the Java- and XML- based
technologies we use) and can support any possible
implementation alternative or extension.
