5.3. Solution Outline
The technology solution targets outreach health-
care for remote rural or disadvantaged inner city
(slum) communities. The solution concept is
depicted in the diagram of Figure 3, produced dur-
ing the field test for easy access by non-technical
stakeholders.
The solution uses RFID to enhance emerging
community health care and for remote locations,
via cellular connection i.e. mHealth. The solution
is used for non-mission-critical healthcare.
Patients will have durable identification cards
(out-patients) and bracelets (in-patients) with
RFID chip and memory chip to hold some patient
data in case wireless communications is not avail-
able, and similar tags provided for medicines and
