Dungeon Walker
Story: Atlantia is a dangerous place, filled with thieves and mercenaries doing
the bidding of the dark lords. But there is no place more dangerous than the
dungeons of the Underground. Some say they span for hundreds of miles, while
others say they are unending.
There are stories that some of the dungeons are paved with gold, and that there
are rubies and jewels the size of a person
'
s hand. Just one ruby would make you
rich.
Every year hundreds of people enter the dungeons in search of their fortune;
many do not return. Those that do recall stories of giant beasts, foul traps, and
dark dangerous passageways. Welcome to the Underground.
Background: Nearly every fantasy-based MMO has some form of dungeon that
the players visit, so why not create a game with a core story about the dungeons
that exist under the cities and towns above them? Considering most games make
you visit a dungeon, it seems sensible that they should play a bigger story part in
the game. Of course to ensure there is depth to the MMO, you still have towns
and cities above ground with alliances and factions.
Different factions would own or run different parts of the dungeon; the dungeon
could contain various traps and an underground city. You could also introduce
the players to this world either as someone who lives/works in the dungeon or as
someone who is intending to enter it. If they are someone who is about to enter
