Adding Animations to Your Actors
The Animations tab allows you to create animations for any actors that you have
created/imported. An animation is a set of defined moves that an actor (and its
associated body parts) can make within the game such as riding a horse, fighting,
dancing, waving, and dying. To find the Animations tab, you should ensure the
Actors tab is selected and then choose the Animations sub-tab.
You can see the basic screen setup for the Animations tab in Figure 8.14.
The Animations tab is split into a number of sections:
n Actors list : This is a list of predefined actors within the MMO software.
Some are available from the downloaded objects.
n Buttons : Create a new animation, copy (duplicate) an animation, or
delete an animation set from these options.
n Animation set : A list of animations within each actor. For some actors
you may have only a small number of animations; for example, in the
case of a fish you may just want a swimming animation, whereas in a
player you may want many more.
n Add animation button : Adds an animation set to the selected actor.
n Remove animation : Removes an animation set from an actor.
n Rename animation : Renames the animation set name.
n Animation start frame/end : An actor can contain many animation
frames that do many different movements; you can specify the frame
number that applies to this animation set.
n Animation speed : Changes the percentage speed of the animation.
