back to the rest position.
Both of these systems have poor open loop performance; that is, they have con-
siderable amounts of overshoot when powered. As a result, sophisticated feed-for-
ward systems are needed to idealize the actuator behavior. Once this idealized be-
havior is achieved, both systems have excellent performance.
