5.4.2.3 Impact of Varying the Number of Security Levels This experiment
is used to measure the impact of changing the numbers of secu-
rity levels on the performance of the multilevel relational database
models. The number of security levels varies from two to three, four,
five, and six. Fix the number of tuples at 1,000,000; fix the number
of attributes at four. From FigureĀ 5.10 the response times grow for all
models as the number of security levels is increased. Also, support-
ing encryption in the encryption-based multilevel database model
improves the performance of a multilevel database because the data-
base size is decreased due to removing the extra attributes used for the
class levels.
5.4.3 JOIN Query
The following experiments define the impact of changing the number
of tuples, the number of attributes, and the number of security levels
on the performance of the multilevel relational database security
