Sajik Daeje
Held at Sajikdan on the third Sunday of the month, the 'Great Rite for the Gods of Earth
and Agriculture' is one of Seoul's most important ancestral rituals, and designated as an
Important Intangible Cultural Property. The ceremonies, which include offerings of fresh
meat and produce, are performed in traditional costumes to live music played by a court or-

Chuseok
The Harvest Moon Festival is a major three-day holiday when families gather, eat crescent-
shaped rice cakes and visit their ancestors' graves to make offerings of food and drink and
perform sebae (a ritual bow). Begins 19 September in 2013, 8 September in 2014 and 27
September in 2015.
Seoul Drum Festival
Focusing on Korea's fantastic percussive legacy, this three-day international event in Seoul
