You've got to hand it to this Japan-
ese business hotel group for bagging a prime spot close to the Dongdaemun Design Plaza
& Park. The small, clean and well-equipped rooms here (with plenty of single ones) are
great value, with rates including a simple breakfast.

A dependable level of luxury is offered by the elegant,
classic-style Shilla which stands aloof on a hill near Namsan. There's a regular shuttle bus
to get you up here from the subway exit. The outdoor pool is open from May to August,
