Budget and midrange places usually include a VAT of 10% in their rates. All top-end hotels will slap a service
charge of 10% on the bill as well as VAT (so a total of 21% over the quoted rate); rates listed in this guide in-
clude all taxes.

Only a handful of top-end hotels are not near a subway station; those that aren't provide shuttle buses. Altern-
atively, use a taxi.
Wi-Fi
Often free, but sometimes only in the hotel lobby. If wi-fi is not available in guest rooms, the alternative will
be connection to the internet via LAN cable. Top-end hotels can charge as much as ₩35,000 a day for internet
access.
