WORLD CUP STADIUM
( www.seoulworldcupst.or.kr ; Line 6 to World Cup Stadium, Exit 1) Built to stage the opening cere-
mony and matches during the 2002 Football World Cup, this 66,000-seat venue is still used
as a sports and events stadium. Also in the building is a museum (adult/child ₩1000/500;
9am-6pm) about the World Cup event, as well as a cinema multiplex, the shopping store
Homeplus and Spoland, a sports centre with swimming pools and 24-hour sauna. Around
the stadium are large parks created from landfill sites returned to a natural state and cycling
tracks.
