GALLERIES GALORE
'Visitors to Seoul are often quite surprised by the diversity of art and number of galleries here,' says Monica Cha,
owner of Gallery Cha in Tongui-dong west of Gyeongbokgung. Although some major commercial galleries are
based south of the Han River, Seoul's eclectic contemporary art scene is concentrated around Insa-dong, Bukchon
and Tongui-dong. Unless otherwise mentioned the galleries are free to browse. Most galleries are closed Monday.
