In-Depth Information
Jogye-sa's Information Centre for Foreigners ( 732 5292; 10am-5pm) is staffed by
English-speaking guides. Ask here about the Temple Life program ( 20,000, open 10am
to 2.30pm Saturday) which includes a temple tour, tea ceremony, basic meditation prac-
tice, a traditional vegetarian monk's meal, making lanterns and doing woodblock printing.
Mini-Temple Life programs featuring two or three activities are generally available daily
for a small donation.
To find out more about Buddhism or book a Templestay program elsewhere in Seoul or
Korea, the Templestay Information Centre ( OFFLINE MAP ; www.templestay.com ) is just across
the street from Jogye-sa. Along the street you'll also find many shops selling monks'
robes, prayer beads, lanterns and the like.
