3.3 Accumulated 200 h Operation in a Prototype
Scale Gasi
er
The preliminary test in a prototype scale gasi
er (Sect. 3.2 ) indicates that the test in
a prototype scale can obtain the higher heating value of producer gas than the test
in laboratory scale. To study the effect of operating condition on power production
in the long-term run, the accumulated 200 h test was performed. In this test run, the
composition of producer gas, its lower heating value, and the cold gas ef
ciency
were considered as the gasi
cation performance; at the same time, the engine-
generator performance, for example diesel replacement rate, fuel consumption rate
for a unit of power production and the overall power production ef
ciency were
taken into consideration. Table 7 presents the operating conditions for each run.
The different weight ratio of dense-RDF to wood chip of 50:50 was applied to
test no. 1 to 10, 75:25 for test no. 11 to 17 and 100:0 for test no. 18. After
performing the test no. 1 and 2, it was found that 60 kg of charcoal cannot provide
suf
ciently high temperature for the combustion process in the combustion zone of
