BVI DEPARTURE TAX - BOAT
You must pay a $5 departure tax to leave the BVI by ferry. This is not included in the
ticket price, and must be paid separately at the ferry terminal (usually at a window by
the departure lounge).
Car & Motorcycle
Driving is undoubtedly the most convenient way to get around, as public transportation is
limited and taxi fares add up in a hurry. Unlike some Caribbean islands, the Virgin Islands
have no tradition of moped or motorcycle rentals to travelers.
Automobile Associations
There is no AAA or other emergency road service, but most car-rental agencies will
provide service to a customer with a breakdown.
