In-Depth Information
Time
The Virgin Islands are on Atlantic Standard Time, which is one hour later than Eastern
Standard Time (ie New York, Miami etc) and four hours earlier than Greenwich Mean
Time. However, there is no Daylight Saving Time in the Virgins, which means from mid-
March to early November, the time on the islands is the same as in New York and Miami.

Travelers with Disabilities
Travel in the Virgin Islands is not easy for those with physical challenges.
» While the Americans with Disabilities Act holds sway in the USVI, facilities are not ac-
cessible to the same degree as they are in the US. And facilities are particularly lacking in
the BVI. There is little consciousness of the need for curb cuts, wheelchair-accessible taxis
and ferries, or rental vehicles for people with disabilities.
