In-Depth Information
» Check the hotel websites listed throughout this topic for special online rates. The usual
online travel-booking websites also offer discounted room prices in the Virgin Islands,
though selection is limited.
Prices
» The price indicators in this topic refer to the cost of a double room. Prices listed in this
book are for peak-season travel and, unless stated otherwise, do not include taxes (which
can be up to 17% in the BVI and 18% in the USVI). If breakfast is included and/or a bath-
room is shared, that information is included in our listing.
» The budget category comprises campgrounds and simple hotels where you'll likely share
a bathroom. Rates rarely exceed $100 for a double.
» Midrange accommodations, such as most guesthouses, B&Bs, condos/apartments and
some hotels, generally offer the best value for money. Expect to pay between $100 and
$300 for a comfortable, decent-sized double with a private bathroom.
» Top-end accommodations (more than $300 per double) are mostly resorts that offer an in-
ternational standard of amenities, including multiple pools, water-sports equipment, fitness
and business centers and other upmarket facilities.

Seasons
» Peak season is winter, from mid-December through April, when prices are highest.
» It's best to book ahead during winter, as well as during holidays (see Public Holidays,
Click here ) and major events (see Month by Month, Click here ), as rooms can be scarce.
» Many properties have three-night minimum stay requirements during peak season.
» Some lodgings close in September, the heart of low season.
