TOP FIVE COCKTAILS
» Painkiller - Jost Van Dyke's Soggy Dollar Bar supposedly invented this sweet mix
of rum, coconut, pineapple, orange juice and nutmeg. It's now the Virgins' signature
drink and poured throughout the islands.
» Bushwhacker - Local bars blend vodka, rum and five or so sweet, creamy liqueurs
into a potent icy treat. It may taste like a plain ol' milkshake, but note what happens
when you try to stand up.
» Rum Punch - Remember the rhyme: 'One of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, four
of weak.' That's lime juice, grenadine, rum and soda, respectively, for those mixing at
home.
» Piña colada - OK, it was invented in Puerto Rico. But the revered, creamy glassful
- a swirl of rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice - is oft sipped in the Virgin Islands
too.
» Shark Tank - With 64 ounces of blue-hued booze (five rums and three liqueurs)
served in a fish bowl with straws, it's wise to share this adult beverage. You'll only
find it at Duffy's Love Shack on St Thomas.
