food.

Shopping
Purple Turtle SOUVENIRS
It sells all kinds of island goodies (pottery, T-shirts etc); conveniently located near the
Anegada Reef Hotel.
East End
The Settlement, Anegada's only town, anchors the East End. The wee West Indian village is
a picture of dead cars (you can get them on the island, but you can't get them off), laundry
drying in the breeze and folks feeding goats and chickens. There are a couple of teensy
shops where you can buy food and supplies. The iguanas and beaches are the draws.

Rock Iguana Hatchery HATCHERY
8am-4pm) The BVI National Parks Trust started the facility because feral cats were
eating the island's baby iguanas, endangering the rare species. So workers now bring the
babes to the nursery's cages to grow safely. After two years, they're big enough to be re-
leased back into the wild, where they'll sprout to around 5ft from tip to tail. The hatchery
sits behind the government administration building; just let yourself in.
