The open-air restaurant at sublime Cow Wreck Beach features lobster, conch and shellfish
cooked over local wood on the outdoor grill. Chef Bell's conch fritters win applause. The
bar pours the usual assortment of tropical drinks plus the 'cow killer'.
Pam's Kitchen &Bakery BAKERY $
( 284-495-9237; mains $7-12; 8am-5pm) Pam is back! After a lengthy stateside
stint, she has returned to her bakery next to Neptune's Treasure and is once again cranking
out loaves of herb bread, key lime pies, cinnamon rolls and brownies. It's a terrific break-
fast stop for an egg sandwich, or for a lunchtime savory snack like a burger or fish pâté.
Her homemade chutneys and hot sauce give a jolt to local conch and fish.
Lobster Trap SEAFOOD $$$
( 284-495-9466;mains$22-50; lunch&dinner) The Lobster Trap's grilled version
of the namesake crustacean approaches perfection on a menu that includes the usual sea-
food suspects. Adding to the pleasure: the twinkly garden setting on the main anchorage's
waterfront. There is a dinghy dock for boaters.
Neptune's Treasure SEAFOOD $$$
( 284-495-9439; www.neptunestreasure.com ; mains $22-50; breakfast, lunch &
dinner) The Soares family, originally Portuguese fisherfolk from the Azores, has run this
restaurant and hotel of same name for more than 35 years. They remain the BVI's main
commercial fishers, so the swordfish, yellowfin tuna and mahimahi are hot off the boat.
The meat-and-seafood menu is similar to the island's other waterfront establishments, but
it's served in an air-conditioned dining room rather than the great outdoors.
Anegada Reef Hotel SEAFOOD $$$
( 284-495-8002; www.anegadareef.com ; mains $22-50; breakfast, lunch & din-
ner) This is Anegada's traditional hot spot. A lot of folks cruising in yachts show up in the
anchorage off the dock and make a beach party at the open-air bar while the fish and lobster
sizzle on the grill. Breakfast consists of bacon and eggs, lunch brings on the burgers and
sandwiches (try the tuna melt).
