BOAT
Road Town Fast Ferry ( 284-494-2323; www.roadtownfastferry.com ; round trip
$45) sails from Road Town, Tortola, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:45am and
3:30pm; it departs Anegada at 8:30am and 5pm. The boat makes a quick stop at Spanish
Town, Virgin Gorda, en route. Many travelers use this public ferry to do a day trip.
Several Tortola- and Virgin Gorda-based day-sail operators also make jaunts to Anegada,
including Bitter End Yacht Club ( www.beyc.com ) , which runs a 'blue water excursion'
to the island on Wednesdays.
CAR
Jeep rentals cost about $75 per day at the Anegada Reef Hotel (
284-495-8002;
www.anegadareef.com ) by the ferry dock. DW Jeep Rentals (
284-495-9677;
dwjeep@hotmail.com) at Nutmeg Point can cost a bit less.
Anegada has one main road, Settlement Ruffin Rd, which starts at the airport and swings
by The Settlement. From there it heads west to the ferry dock at Setting Point. It's paved for
this portion, but as you move onward around the island the pavement gives way to packed
sand. Unpaved trails and 4WD tracks lead to the East End and interior.
TAXI
Taxis wait by the ferry dock. You can arrange a three-hour island tour for around $55. In
addition, open-air shuttles ($8 per person round trip) run to the beaches from the Anegada
Reef Hotel.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

» There are no banks on Anegada. Most places accept credit cards, but a few do not,
so make sure you bring cash.
» For dinner, you'll have to choose a restaurant ahead of time and call by 4pm for
reservations. Without this advance warning, most venues won't have enough food on
hand.
