Ali Baba's BURGERS, SEAFOOD $$

fast,lunch&dinner) Ali Baba's has a lazy, down-island atmosphere on its open-air patio.
Patrons come for fresh fish and the Monday-night pig roast. The West Indian conch, lime-
garlic shrimp and pumpkin soup rank as favorites. Breakfast draws a group of coffee-drink-
ing locals. Make dinner reservations by 6pm.
Corsairs PIZZA, SEAFOOD $$
( 284-495-9294; www.corsairsbvi.com ; mains $25-40; breakfast, lunch & din-
ner) Corsairs provides a variation on the usual seafood theme with a menu of pizzas and
pastas, along with eclectic Tex-Mex, Thai and other fusion dishes. Most incorporate sea-
food in some fashion, including fish tacos, shrimp fettuccine and lobster in coconut-pump-
kin sauce. The bar hosts limbo contests and the BVI's only Jagermeister machine (you've
been warned...). Beach barbecues take place on Sunday and Tuesday.
Christine's Bakery BAKERY $
( 284-495-9281; mains $3-10; breakfast & lunch) Christine doesn't start baking
when the roosters wake up, but she's got the settlement filled with the scents of banana
bread, coconut and coffee by 8am, which is about as early as anyone starts to move around
here. Grab an egg sandwich for breakfast; burgers and sandwiches are available for lunch.
Go early for the best selection. The bakery is just inland from the customs office (look for
the sign with arrow).
Rudy's Mariner's Rendezvous BURGERS, SEAFOOD $$
( 284-495-9282;mains$17-35; lunch&dinner) Congenial Rudy George runs this
bar, restaurant and convenience store rolled into one. The breezy eatery serves delicious
seafood; lobster and local fish are the specialties, along with burgers and ribs.
