Guavaberry Spring Bay Homes COTTAGES $$

stone's throw from the Baths, plopped amid similar hulking boulders, Guavaberry's circu-
lar cottages come with one or two bedrooms, a kitchen, dining area and sun porch. The
setting amazes. Only some units have air-conditioning, so ask for it when booking if you
need it. There's a common area with wi-fi (for a small fee), games, books and cable TV, and
a commissary stocked with alcohol, snacks and meals to cook in your cottage. The office
has internet terminals, and staff are a fountain of knowledge who can arrange all manner of
tours. It's a short walk to both the Baths and Spring Bay beach (where Guavaberry provides
chairs for lounging). Payment by cash or check only.
Virgin Gorda Village Hotel HOTEL $$

rent out one of these one to three bedroom condos. Although it's not on the beach, the large
pool and garden setting give it the feel of an oasis. Tennis courts, a gym, spa, children's
playground and restaurant-bar on site round out the package. The property is on North
Sound Rd at the north end of the Valley, about 1 mile from Savannah Beach. The bar has
free wi-fi.
Bayview Vacation Apartments APARTMENTS $$

ments, behind the restaurant Chez Bamboo, has two bedrooms, a full kitchen, dining facil-
ities and an airy living room. It's plain-Jane ambience, with faded rattan furnishings, but
it can be a good deal, especially if you have three or four people. There is a roof deck for
sunbathing and there's free shuttle pickup from the ferry docks.
Fischer's Cove Beach Hotel HOTEL $$
( 284-495-5252; www.fischerscove.com ; d/cottages$165/190) Surrounded by gardens
and located just a few steps from the beach, Fischer's Cove is made up of eight triangular-
shaped cottages and a main hotel building with 20 no-frills studios. The cottages have full
kitchens, but no phones, TVs or air-con (they're also located by a drainage ditch). The hotel
units do have phones and TVs, and a few also have air-con. The popular open-air restaur-
ant overlooks the property's beach. It's a 15-minute walk from the main ferry dock, and the
best lodging option if you're carless, being near the Yacht Harbour amenities as well.
