Around Road Town
Southwest of Road Town the road hugs the shoreline around Sea Cow Bay. A couple of big
resorts are here, offering a slew of wet and wild activities.
Activities
Dolphin Discovery DOLPHIN SWIM
( www.dolphindiscovery.com/tortola ; ProspectReefResort) A 'swim with the dolphins'
program operates at Prospect Reef offering a variety of options for close encounters, ie be-
ing towed by the animal's dorsal fin, getting a ride on the dolphin's belly or just paddling
around with the creatures. Keep in mind though that these are wild animals brought here
forcibly, a practice that is widely condemned by environmental groups. Kids must swim
with a paying adult companion. Rates start at $70 per person.
Island Surf & Sail SURFING
( 284-494-0123; www.bviwatertoys.com ; NannyCay) It rents all kinds of boards and
sail equipment, and provides surfing, windsurfing and stand up paddleboarding lessons
here, as well as kayak tours. There's another branch at Sopers Hole.
Blue Water Divers DIVING
( 284-494-2847; www.bluewaterdiversbvi.com ; Nanny Cay) PADI-certified with
four boats to get you to the good spots. It, too, has another branch at Sopers Hole.
King Charters BOAT TRIP
( 284-494-5820; www.kingcharters.com ; Nanny Cay) Head out for a day-sail on
King's 46-foot motor yacht.
