Highland Spring HIHO WINDSURFING

for the weeklong Hook-In-Hold-On races, which zip around Virgin Gorda, Anegada and

BVI Emancipation Festival CULTURAL

tola rocks from East End to West End, celebrating its African-Caribbean heritage. Activit-
ies feature everything from a beauty pageant and car show to 'rise & shine tramps' (noisy
parades led by reggae bands in the back of a truck that start at 3am) to horse racing. The
celebration marks the 1834 Emancipation Act that abolished slavery in the BVI; it coin-
cides with a string of public holidays.
Virgin Islands Fungi Fest MUSIC
( www.vifungifest.com ; mid-Nov) The weekend-long Fungi Fest brings musicians from
around the islands to a Road Town park for nonstop concerts.
