The Hibiscus stands just up the mile-long
beach from the Palms at Pelican Cove. The 38 rooms spread through a collection of beach-
front, colonial-style villas amid a coconut grove. Room decor is a bit dated, but each unit
comes with a wind-cooled private patio or balcony. Snorkeling equipment is available for
free, as is in-room wi-fi. There is a popular beachfront bar and restaurant here, with enter-
tainment most nights of the week (noise alert) and views across the water to Christiansted.

The pick of the local litter for value, this peachy B&B opened
in 2007 and has 14 bright rooms, each with different color schemes and decor. For those
without a vehicle, it's isolated from the beaches and eateries, but the owners make amends
by providing daily transportation to Christiansted and Cane Bay. The honor bar and tele-
scope for guests to use to stargaze (or ship-gaze) are nice touches.

This small, tidy hotel has pretty dang big rooms painted in tropical
pastels. All 12 units have a balcony, kitchenette, cable TV and free wi-fi. But it's really all
about location: you can snorkel or dive right off the rocks out front or lounge in the saltwa-
ter pool.
Cane Bay Reef Club

The Reef Club is good value because each of the nine rooms is like
its own little villa overlooking the beach. The decor is dated but all suites include small
kitchens and private patios virtually hanging over the sea. There is a pool for bathing and a
seaside sundeck. Cane Bay Beach and its diving, snorkeling and beach bars are 300 yards
down the busy road.
