In-Depth Information
Only here, each 16ft by 16ft unit has a 2nd-floor loft and a private bathroom, with com-
posting toilet and solar-heated shower (still a bit chilly). The tents' fans and lights run on a
12-volt solar-generated electrical system, and the shower water comes from a rain-collec-
tion cistern under the tent. A kitchen (small refrigerator and two-burner propane stove) and
sea view (more dramatic than at Maho) complete the package.
The resort has its own cafe, activities center for yoga and water sports, and swimming
pool. It's a half-mile walk to the beach at Salt Pond Bay. Located about 2.5 miles south
of Coral Bay, Concordia is even more quiet and isolated than Maho. You'll likely want a
rental car, though patient souls can access it by public bus.
The Concordia camp also offers several studio apartments with upgraded amenities.
These are, in essence, condos with lots of space, a full kitchen and stellar views. As with
the eco-tents, you'll be walking up and down oodles of stairs to access the cafe, pool and
other facilities.
