The Baths

The BVI's most popular tourist attraction, the Baths (

) on Virgin Gorda are
a sublime jumbled collection of sky-high granite boulders by the sea. The rocks — volcan-
ic lava from up to 70 million years ago, according to some estimates — form a series of
grottoes that fill with water and shafts of kaleidoscopic sunlight. You can snorkel around the
otherworldly megaliths, or take the trail through them in which you'll slosh through tidal
pools, squeeze into impossibly narrow passages, and then drop out onto a sugar-sand beach.
