If you only have one day at the park
Beach it. Go snorkeling and hiking. All three can be experienced at many locations,
including Honeymoon and Salomon Beaches, Cinnamon Bay, Francis Bay, Salt Pond
Bay and Lameshur Bays.
The Battery
HISTORICAL BUILDING
On the small peninsula to the left of the ferry dock stands a large Georgian building, rising
on the foundation of an 18th-century fort that the Danes built to protect the island. Today,
the battery houses government offices and is also the residence the governor uses when vis-
iting St John.
