If ever there was a place where guys in white captain's hats sat around clinking ice in their
drinks after coming ashore from tall-masted mega-yachts, it's Virgin Gorda's North Sound.
PEAKS & MINES
Gorda Peak and Copper Mine National Parks are worth the hike. The former is an easy
climb amid orchids and hummingbirds to the island's high point. The latter offers wind-
pounded ruins atop a forlorn bluff.
BIG-BOULDERED BEAUTY
Visitors come to see the granite megaliths of the Baths. Boulders hulk over the beach
and form sunlight-shafted grottoes prime for climbing and swimming in search of hidden
'rooms' and peaceful pools.
