THE WALL
Divers flock to Cane Bay's one-of-a-kind 'wall.' It drops at a 60-degree slope to a 12,000ft
depth, offering a literal look into the deep a quick swim from shore.
FORTS & WINDMILLS
Christiansted's yellow fort and Frederiksted's blood-red one let you time travel to the 18th
century, when the towns traded in sugar, molasses and slaves. More than 100 windmill ru-
ins hark back to when sugarcane plantations abounded.
MEET THE TURTLES
Several isolated beaches are nesting grounds for turtles, including Jack and Isaac Bays,
home to green and hawksbill slowpokes, and Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge, where
the mammoth 1500lb leatherback heaves ashore.
