Best Regions for Kids
North Shore, St John
At the heart of Virgin Islands National Park, with eco-camping opportunities, gentle hiking
trails, ranger programs and great beaches for snorkeling.
East End, St Thomas
Several resorts cluster here, as well as Coral World Ocean Park, the top spot for encounters
with marine life, and a mangrove lagoon for kid- friendly kayak trips.
Virgin Gorda
The Bitter End Yacht Club is the Virgins' best option for teaching kids sailing, windsurfing
and other water-sport lessons at its camps. The Baths are another splash-worthy locale.
Christiansted, St Croix
A cannon-covered fort, a water-sport-laden beach, wharfside restaurants where fish swim
up to nibble, and a bioluminescent bay come nighttime make St Croix's main town a well-
provisioned base.
Waves to splash in, sand castles to build, sea turtles to visit, forts to explore - families will
find activities throughout the islands, and you can bet the weather will oblige whatever you
do. Add a boatload of resorts catering to children, along with casual beachside eateries, and
you may find yourself (as many do) bringing the kids back year after year.
