Conclusion
1 .
Fauna
: 44 species belonging to 29 genera, 11
families and 5 orders from Asan River and its
tributaries;
Aspidoparia jaya
(Hamilton,
1822) is recorded for the fi rst time from the
river. Of these,
Schistura montana
and
S.
rupecula
, being species of torrents, are not
found in the main Asan River but in tributaries
joining from the Himalayan side.
